The error I see on the screen says something about "security check on Ktext" or something close to that. To create a partition manually which will be the designated Windows installation destination, create a FAT32 partition using Disk Utility. Select all the individual files/folders in the Finder window and Copy (or Drag) them to the USB. Here is the procedure I used:Ģ) Download latest drivers to flash driveģ) Boot Camp assistant partitions the drive ( 400 GB Windows partition)Ĥ) Boot Camp restarts and installs Windows (8.0)ĥ) Windows asks me to select a drive to install windows.Ħ) I select the BootCamp drive, but I have to use the format tool on the installation page to format it to NFTS (otherwise I cannot install windows.Ĩ) Installation runs fine-Windows asks for all the setup informationġ0) Boot Camp support drivers program runs automatically and installs drivers-computer restarts fine.ġ1) Problem-once the desktop appears, as soon as I start to do anything, the blue screen appears that says windows had a problem-ġ2) no amount of windows self repair works short of taking it back to a point before installing Boot Camp support driversĮither I am doing something wrong or the problem is the Boot Camp drivers need to be upgraded by Apple. Mount the ISO by right-clicking on the ISO and choosing Open. Congratulations, you have now set up Windows 8 on your Mac. Simply follow the on-screen wizard and you will be ready to go. As soon as the 8 desktop would appear, the screen would go blue and Windows would shut down. Insert the USB drive that you used earlier and run the setup program. These can be downloaded using BC Assistant -> Action. Bootcamp 6 drivers from Apple to the root of the USB for W10. The USB drive that Boot Camp made for you will be there for you to install windows from. When its done, restart your mac and hold the option key. After upgrading to Yosemite, like many, windows 8 was having a problem loading. Note: If you use W10 1903 or later ISOs from Microsoft, the install.wim is larger than 4GiB, and will not fit on a FAT32 USB. It can be quite easy making an update to the OSX 10.10 Yosemite from the Mac App store for one computer, but when it comes to making updates for several Macs, or even doing a fresh install, you might find it really stressful having to make those updates separately. Have the Windows ISO handy, and plug in a flash drive thats about 4-8 GB or more. Thanks in advance for any help I receive.
